7 Quick Tips for Art Of Gift Wrapping

Before proceeding further with gift wrapping ideas and DIYs, I would like to share some awesome tips and tricks, which you can try with your gift wrapping this festive season. Essentially, for wrapping a gift, we all will need few articles, embellishments, and surely Lot of Creativity.  As the festive season is just around the corner, I would suggest you to pick some traditional printed paper and embellishments.
7 easy things you can definitely try is as follow-
  1. Material Required: Gift wrapping requires a lot of items like-  scissors, stapler, fevicol, cello tape, paper cutter, white tape, paper puncher, cellophane, wrapping papers, most importantly Glue Gun. A Glue Gun (hot-melt adhesive)- a crafty enthusiast's secret weapon which almost paste everything and that too very strongly. But please be very cautious while working with it as the name says it's hot glue gun.
  2.  Keep Collecting- Keep a box for your  gift wrapping accessories, from old buttons to ends of the ribbon, the collection should consist of-Leftover bits of ribbons can be used for making bows and for embellishing presents. Start collecting Embellishments from any old attire, shoes, jewelry, anything interesting you see which can stick and looks beautiful just keep it safe in your box. Things you can add- flowers, sequins, glitter, strings, feathers, beads, shells, stones, pinecones, soft toys, twirls, lace, net, a leftover of beautiful printed cloth, any kind of twine, Etc.
  3. Explore New Papers-  Don't limit yourself to one pattern of wrapping sheets. There is a lot of variety of papers available in the market like crepe paper, wooly paper, corrugated sheets, chart paper, pastel sheets, handmade paper sheets, etc. But you can come upon some different type of paper at your homes like a newspaper, or brown paper(notebook cover), comic books/magazines, old fabric like pillow covers or table mats. You can use leftover wrapping paper bits and can join them with any plain paper and can make a unique wrapping style.
  4. Gift Tags- A small piece of paper attached to a gift to identify the giver's name with a message on it. Gift tag is as important as the wrapping. For gift tag, I personally collect the price tags(different shape) you can easily get from new clothes you buy. You can find some templates on google and Pinterest.
  5. Dried leaves and flowers- You can dry out leaves and flowers simply by placing them between layers of paper and weigh them down for a couple of weeks. They make for very pretty embellishments.
  6. Wedding Boxes- Being Indian, we do receive a lot of wedding boxes and cards, I would suggest you to collect them as well. we can convert them into gift boxes and can use cards as gift tags.
  7. Collect boxes of eatables/perfumes- start collecting empty boxes of eatables like cereal boxes, pringle box, rectangular\round biscuit box, any perfume box, or shoe boxes. They can be wrapped in pretty paper and can be used to make gift box or gift bags.
Gift wrapping is a blend of two things – material and creativity, that how you using the material, how you placing it on the present. Therefore, start collecting all the items mentioned above from wherever possible you can and let the creativity comes out of you
